Community Stoma Care Service – Warrington

Description of the Stoma Care Nursing Service

A stoma is an artificial opening to or from the intestine (which is also known as the gut or bowel) on the abdominal wall usually created by a surgeon.

This service provides pre and post-operative support to stoma clients and their family or carers.

The service also provides advice to established stoma clients who are experiencing problems.


Who can access the service?

Anyone who has or are about to have a stoma (ileostomy, colostomy or urostomy), their family or carers.

Home visits if patients are unable to attend clinic.
