Proposals to relocate health services from Halebank

NHSBridgewater has reached the end of the lease for the Halebank Access Centre, Widnes and is using this as an opportunity to review the services provided from this venue.

Bridgewater is proposing to relocate the Paediatric Continence Service from Halebank to the nearby Woodview Child Development Centre (CDC), Crow Wood Lane, Widnes, WA8 3LZ.

The Trust is proposing this change in a bid to improve the service offered.

Currently two sessions per fortnight are provided at Halebank.

As part of a review of building use, the Trust has assessed that the Woodview CDC site, where a range of dedicated children’s services are already provided, would be more appropriate.

Many of the patients who access this service at Halebank also use Woodview and recognise it as an excellent child-friendly facility.

The relocation would improve the service experience we currently provide for patients and their families.

It would also be easier for our staff to liaise with other children’s specialists and it will save significant costs for the Trust.

The Phlebotomy Service provided by St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust would also be relocated as a result of this proposal.

To cater for the numbers of people attending at Halebank, the service will look to provide three morning sessions per week at the nearby Beeches Medical Centre, 20 Ditchfield Road, Widnes, WA8 8QS which is a more central location.

In addition phlebotomy clinics are also available at Widnes Healthcare Resource Centre and a range of other locations across Widnes.

We would like to know your thoughts on this proposal if anyone has any questions or concerns or would like to contribute their thoughts to these plans please contact the following teams by Friday 17 March.

Feedback on the proposals will be provided after this date.
