Kate Fallon’s Blog – February 2012

Chief Executive Kate Fallon’s Blog

I am honoured to be leading our bid for Foundation Trust status and I am excited about the opportunities it presents to us.

As a former GP, I am acutely aware of patients’ needs and how vital it is that we make sure we listen to the wants and needs of those we serve.

Patient feedback on our services tells us that we are getting it right most of time, but we aren’t complacent.  One of our strengths is having  a highly experienced and knowledgeable workforce who are committed to improving patient care.

For all of us, the most exciting opportunity FT status offers is to engage more closely and more frequently with those who use our services.

In our consultation documents you will read about how you can sign up to become a member and decide on the level of that membership.

You can also take one step further and seek to become a governor.

The opportunities for local people to become involved in our work have never been greater.

I sincerely hope you will come along to one of our public consultation exercises (see below for details). These sessions will give us a better opportunity to explain what Foundation Trust status is all about.

But, more importantly, they will give us an opportunity to hear your views and use your experience of using our services to help shape our future direction of travel.

Please join us, sign up and become a member, have your say and help us to help you, your families and friends.
