The role of our Governors
Welcome to the Governors area of our website
As part of our application for Foundation Trust status, we were given permission by Monitor (now NHS Improvement) in the Autumn of 2013 to create our shadow Council of Governors.
Following elections and contact with our chosen Partner organisations, we were delighted to be able to confirm the creation of our Council of Governors with effect from Monday 14th October 2013.
The Council operated in shadow form until the Trust received it Foundation Trust licence from Monitor (now NHS Improvement) on the 1st November 2014.
The responsibility and functioning of the Council of Governors is governed by the Trust’s Foundation Trust Constitution.
The Council consists of 33 Governor positions of which 18 are Public Governors, 9 are Staff Governors and 6 are Partner Governors.
The Council of Governors will meet at least 4 times per annum and its meetings will generally held in public.
Details of these meetings and the agenda papers for them can be accessed on the meetings page.
Should you wish to make contact with one of the Trust’s Governors, you can do so by telephone to the Trust Secretary’s Office on 01942 482867 or by e-mailing Bridgewater.Governors@bridgewater.nhs.uk.
