Key Skills and Achievements In addition to undertaking a variety of finance management roles Mike has undertaken a variety of project assignments including:Developing financial diagnostics at West Cheshire PCT (September 2001) and North Cheshire Health Authority (September 2011)Mike had significant input into thematic reviews of care services for the elderly and also mental illness services for the profoundly deaf which were carried out by the Health Advisory ServiceHe also successfully completed an organisational audit for a healthcare trust in Belfast for the Northern Ireland OfficeMike has also previously sat on the National Casemix and Classifications Programme Board for Payment By Results and the national Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) National Health Service Employers (NHSE) Primary Care Finance Reference Group.
Experience Mike is finance professional with more than 27 years in the NHS and has been a Director of Finance within the North West for 12 years.He has held senior finance posts in a range of NHS organisations including Primary Care Trusts, District Health Authorities, University Teaching Hospitals, District General Hospitals and community units in Wales, West Suffolk, West Cumbria and St Helens & Knowsley.Mike has supplemented his extensive finance experience by obtaining further qualifications and undertaking applied study tours to Berkeley and Harvard Universities.
