Accident and Emergency Department (A&E) Clinical Quality Indicator

Walk in Centres

The Operating Framework for the NHS in England 2011/12 launched a set of clinical quality indicators which would provide a comprehensive and balanced view of the care delivered in Accident and Emergency Departments (A&E), which included Walk in Centres.

In June 2011 the Department of Health (DoH) published “A&E Clinical Quality Indicators – Best Practice Guidance for Local Publication” with the purpose of supporting providers to publish the data associated with the indicators for patients, public, other providers and commissioners in a ‘dashboard’ format.

Information about access times and performance is used by Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Trust to improve decision making processes and the services we deliver.
